Radon is a natural radioactive gas that comes up from the soil and can collect inside homes. The U.S. EPA names it the leading cause of lung cancer among people who don’t smoke, and the Oregon Health Authority encourages every Oregon homeowner to test.
Levels vary from house to house, even on the same street, so a test of the home itself is the only way to know. If the level comes back high, radon mitigation is a common, well-understood fix.
What we look at
- Radon concentration in the lowest lived-in level of the home
- Test conditions, so the result can be relied on
- Any existing radon mitigation system that can be seen
Who it’s for

Where it’s available
Across all of TRUELINE’s service areas, including Sherwood, Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard and Tualatin.
Radon Testing: Questions
How much does radon testing cost?
It costs less when booked together with a home inspection than on its own. Both prices are listed on our pricing page.
What level is a concern?
The EPA recommends fixing a home when radon is at or above 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L), and considering it between 2 and 4 pCi/L.
